The (4-3 2-1) head to Muncie, Indiana today to take on the (2-5, 1-2) who are fresh off of their first conference win of the year. Ball State pulled off a huge win at Central Michigan last week despite being out-gained by 139 yards. The Cardinals watched a 12-point halftime lead slip away as Central Michigan tied up the game on a touchdown pass and two-point conversion with 2:22 remaining in the fourth quarter.
On the ensuing drive, the Cardinals got the ball to the 38-yard line with a fourth down., the Ball State kicker, nailed a line drive knuckle ball from 55 yards out with 17 seconds remaining. The win gave Ball State their second of the season and first since August 30. Akron comes into the game fresh off of a three point loss at Ohio last Saturday. The Zips were forced to start backup quarterback due to an apparent head injury to starter against Miami.
Woodson showed many signs of immaturity by making poor decisions and bad throws. Akron comes into the game at 2-1 in conference play which is good enough for second place in the East division behind Bowling Green. The 22nd meeting between the teams will break the 10-10-1 tie. The Cardinals are currently on a four game win streak dating back to 2005. Ball State won the last match-up 42-24 at Akron in 2013.
