I have a Macbook Pro Retina (late 2012). I have been using Outlook 365 (Office 2016) on my Ma for last four months. It stopped working a couple days ago. Specifically, all Outlook programs ask me to activate and when I sign on to activate, entering Microsoft username and password, message is 'Looking for License', then the error message is 'Cannot Connect to Local Server'. Detailed Message Can't connect to local subscription service, please reboot your machine. What I have done: - 5 hours on phone with Microsoft support.
Extremely frustrating as I could never get past level one support and three different people had me uninstall and reinstall and reboot multiple times. Whenever they tried to get me to second level support, they disconnected the call. Went to Apple store and tech did everything he could including anything he could find on online forums. Also, reinstalled, rebooted, etc. Went to Microsoft Store and they spent some time doing the same things.
Also, checked Region on Mac system preferences (United States). El Capitan V 10.11.2 Also, with a different user on this Mac, I can activate Office. Changing users on Mac would/will involve quite some time as this is a work machine and alot of setup. Any ideas on how to debug/resolve or to get MS to support are appreciated.
